Maddie glared at her mother and jumped to her feet.
"How dare you hit him!" Maddie yelled furiously at her mother. "He is NOT a criminal! Tell her Chazz!" Maddie said rounding on Chazz.
As long as she had known him, Chazz had yet to express any kind of mean behavior or even a criminal behavior. her mother was clearly mistaking.
"Secondly, I will date whoever I want to!" Maddie snarled at her mother, her eyes flashing dangerously. Her canine half was coming through in anger and a low growl erupted from her throat.
"Chazz has never hurt me nor expressed any kind of criminal behavior! Where did you get this information from mother?" She demanded putting her hands on her hips. She looked at Chazz, who was avoiding eye contact.
"Chazz?" she prodded. His lack of eye contact began making Maddie very nervous right now and her anger began ebbing away to shock and fear.
She watched him anxiously, trying to comphrehend was was going through his head now. But perhaps this is what he didn't want to tell her about his past. Perhaps this was the big secret that he was avoiding telling her.
"Tell me the truth Chazz right now" she said standing in front of him with her arms crossed over her chest. She watched him and waited. She hated to think that her mother was right, but something was nagging her now that perhaps this one time, her mother was right on the money. Still, conflicted feelings rose and fell in her chest. hurt, anger, confusions as she waited for him to speak again

Raibaru Chazz Yokai``IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE A CRIMINAL THIS SUFFERING when we're alone.``
"The truth huh?" he sighed, taking a few shaky breaths before looking up at Maddie. His eyes betrayed nothing as to how he was feeling, but he knew he couldn't get away with saying nothing. He had to say something... but should he really tell her? It would ruin everything they shared for the last few days... and not just that, but their friendship over the years. Chazz looked away again, this time pulling up the sleeves on his red shirt, "Yeah, I'm a criminal. See these tattoos, Maddie, and I want you to look at them closely... these are all events in my life. Every single one.... and I put all of them on me when I went to federal prison before I met you."
He winced visibly when he heard something like a growl come out of her mother's mouth, but with a sharp intake of air, he felt something old within him rekindle. The part of him that had made him what he was back in his teen years... the monstrous side. He furrowed his brows, his fists clenching at his sides as he turned his gaze to Maddie:
"And if you want the whole truth, my name isn't even Chazz. It's Raibaru Yokai. I was born in Japan, and I ran away from my father after putting him in a coma... because I hated his guts. No other reason than just that. I beat the living daylights out of him and stabbed a piece of glass in his head." Chazz's voice was ice cold now, low, sinister, as he remembered each bloody detail of his experience, though he told only the vaguest version right now. It didn't even seem like he held a trace of his kind self left now that he was on this roll.
He snorted, a lopsided smirk making its way onto his face, "I came here with the intention to escape being arrested in Japan, but then I was caught here for being an illegal alien."
"And as if that wasn't bad enough!" Maddie's mother cut in. "You attacked a police officer, did you not?!"
Chazz blinked, turning his eyes back onto the older woman, "How the hell do you even know this stuff about me?! Huh? What business was it of yours to snoop into my life. I haven't done anything to you or Maddie personally!"
"I was suspicious when I saw you one day a long time ago. There was a car accident, and you were walking close by in Brooklyn. When the police came, you ran to an alley. I couldn't just shake that off, so I looked you up."
"Bitch," Chazz growled lowly, and inwardly he cursed his luck. "I'll have you know that your stupid police officers don't exactly treat anyone kindly."
"It's not their job to be nice to criminals!" she retorted back.
Chazz stopped, resisting the urge to yell again. This was going to get him nowhere. He'd sealed his fate once again by admitting the truth. That was why he had kept it a secret. Maddie wouldn't stay with him now... but he knew he had to say at least one more thing... something to dissuade her mother, and maybe Maddie too, though he couldn't bare to see her reaction to all of this, "No, it's not their job... but if I had been given a second chance fifteen years ago, I wouldn't have grown up to be like this. Your daughter was the first person to accept me for who I was after going through years of turmoil, and I changed a lot thanks to her. If people could do that for me, they could do it for others, right? How about instead of punishing people that have already gone through hell, help them to become better instead of sealing them away where society can't touch them?! But what would you know, huh? You don't know what it's like to live through hell, and for your sake, I hope you never do..."
He trailed off, the breath taken out of him completely, "Again, my condolences to you and your family Miss Leighton. I'll go now." Chazz didn't waste time after that, as all he felt like doing now was finding somewhere to be alone before he fell back into old habits. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt Maddie now. He'd done enough already, hadn't he? He walked out the door, slamming it shut behind him so that the sound would echo back at them.
***
He had walked to the shop to pick up a few things. Jayla, for one, his guitar, and a bottle of whiskey. If Maddie was stupid enough to try and look for him here, he'd be gone. He needed time to himself now, and he intended to get away from everyone for the night by going somewhere secluded. Where? Probably the park. No one came out there at night, and if anyone did... Chazz wasn't hiding the fact that he could kick their asses. His face was contorted into something sinister, and people moved out of his way as they walked to wherever they were going.
"That's the right idea," he muttered. "Run away from criminals. They'll just hurt you."
He finally made it to the park, and with Jayla close behind him, he made his way through bracken and other undergrowth until a small clearing was visible. Not many people knew about this spot. Chazz had found it years ago when he first came to New York. He hadn't had a home then, so... this was the only secluded place he could find to sleep. There was a hollow tree he'd duck under if the weather was bad, but otherwise it was empty.
"Remember this place girl?" Chazz asked almost silently. Jayla whined beside him, and that was all it took for Chazz to sink to the floor and bury his face into his pet's fur. "I know you'll never abandon me. Dogs are so much better than humans.... They don't break you down until you're an insignificant little piece of nothing. Jayla, I don't know what I'm going to do when you're gone."
The dog said nothing though, as she couldn't But she stayed there, which was enough for Chazz right now. Everything had fallen apart again! "What am I gonna do with myself?"

Maddie stood there, shaking violently, her eyes wide. So that was the horrible secret Chazz...er whoever it was wouldn't tell me! She thought to herself. Chazz wasn't even his real name!
She glared at her mother.
"That is a good question , mother. How do you know all that about him?" Maddie demanded angrily to her. "It's just like you to meddle in people's lives! No wonder Dad did what he did a while ago!"
She sobbed and fled from the room. She quickly undressed and let her clothes fall to the floor in the hallway. She shifted into her canine form. She jumped through the window and glass showered the ground outside. She didn't care that she just had destroyed on of the bay window's of her mother's house. She needed to run. She galloped on all fours down the block, her nose detecing Chazz's scent. Oddly, she was drawn to follow him. She was hurt that she had to find out this way, and look like a complete fool in front of her mother.
She spied him near the park. It took almost 20 minutes to find him. Her nails softly clicked on the pavement. Both ears were pricked up right.
She darted across the street and didn't look. The next thing she knew she felt a hard, cold metal object graze her. She let out a sharp 'whelp'. She landed on her side, with all four legs stretched out before her. The car had grazed her. Pain shot up her left foreleg. She whined loudly and closed her eyes, feeling sharp pain signals shooting into her brain. She whimpered and laid in the middle of the street, her head resting on its side.

Raibaru Chazz Yokai``I CAN'T SAY AND I DON'T KNOW how far i'll go.``
Twenty minutes was enough for Chazz to be lulled into a state of complete numbness. He was still clinging to Jayla, but he could literally not think, not hear, and not feel anything. His mind was an empty void now as he waited... and waited. For what? He didn't even really know....
Jayla continued to whine softly, feeling her owner's anguish even though he did nothing but hang there, his coat hardly doing anything to protect him from the cold. However, things would soon change, but not all at once. The first thing Jayla noticed was Maddie's strange scent in the wind. Hoping that the skinwalker could help Chazz more than she could, Jayla tried to squirm out of Chazz's grasp. It didn't take much work, as the poor boy was hardly even conscious in this state.
The German Shepherd dog raced back through the bracken, only to witness the scene of the crime. A yelp sounded out, and immediately, Jayla started barking, hoping that Chazz would come. She couldn't do a thing to help Maddie by herself. Dragging her with that leg of hers could be more dangerous than helpful, but at the same time, Maddie was stranded in the middle of the street. This was New York... which meant more drivers were coming.
Jayla paced back and forth, her barking never ceasing, until finally, she made up her mind. The German Shepherd made a dash for Maddie, attempting to pick her up by the scruff and drag her away from the road. Whines escaped her throat periodically as panic rose. Cars were coming... she could feel it.
Chazz meanwhile fell sideways onto the ground from his lopsided sitting position, the impact waking him up. He'd been so out of it when Jayla had left, he hadn't heard Maddie's yelp, or any of the alerts that his own dog tried to send him, "Jayla? Where'd you go?" Panic rose inside of him, hoping to any higher power that existed that his dog hadn't left him too. He jumped up, "Jayla!"
His dog heard his cries, but with her maw still firmly grasping Maddie's scruff, she couldn't answer him back. But the road was almost cleared. Just... a bit more and they'd both be safe, and Chazz would be happy. That was all she wanted for her master anyway, happiness.... But that glowing hope that she'd see her master on the other side of the pavement vanished when wheels screeched. Jayla didn't even have time to react let alone escape, so she heaved herself forward, hoping she could at least get Maddie out of harms way.
And then there was pain. Sharp, searing, horrible pain. Jayla let go of Maddie as her body was thrust forward from the impact and thrown to the unforgiving cement. "J-Jayla!" a voice cried. Chazz had appeared in just the right moment to see his own dog get hit. He glanced around, noticing that the person who'd hit his companion stopped to check if everything was alright.
"I didn't see her until it was too late," he cried, his voice panicked. "A-at least I didn't hit both of them."
Both of them... Chazz repeated in his head. He turned to see that next to the car was another familiar dog. "Maddie! H-how did-" he cut himself off though, rushing towards her. He could tell from the way her leg was limp that she hadn't been left unscathed... but at least she was alive. He didn't stop to think about what he was doing, "Sir, put her in your car. I'll get Jayla.... and take us home! Quickly!"
"O-okay," the guy stuttered in return. Chazz nodded to him to seal the deal, and then quickly ran back over to his dog, crouching over her with a look of horror. She was taking labored breaths, and blood poured from her mouth. It was a gruesome sight, and Chazz trembled violently when he met her eyes. She stared at him, and then whined when she tried to wag her tail even once.
"Shh, Jayla..." he said. "It's okay. You don't have to move. You did something amazing. I'm proud of you girl... okay? More proud than a father could be of their kid. Just rest...." Jayla whined, though her eyes looked satisfied. Her breathing became more and more shallow by the moment, but Chazz could tell his pet was struggling to hold onto her frail last moments. She was suffering, he realized.
"Listen to me girl, I love you very much," he said. "And tomorrow, when you wake up, we'll go for the longest walk you've ever had. Okay?" He reached into the inside of his coat, knowing that he had to put an end to her life sooner than later. If she went on suffering, it would be worse. He had a pocket knife after all, and for the first time in his life, he'd actually be using it for something.
Goodbye Jayla, he thought as he thrust his arm forward. There was nothing but a final sigh from his pet before she left the world after that. Immediately, a sob escaped Chazz's mouth. It was pathetic, really, for him to have been so careless today. He'd not only likely lost his girlfriend, but an irreplaceable companion.
***
It didn't take long for the man who'd hit Jayla the two off at Woofles. Chazz carried Maddie carefully as he walked inside, and immediately put her on a grooming table. He looked at her once, his eyes hollow, and then said, "Try not to move too much. I'm gonna wrap your leg up tight." He went out of the room for a moment, and then came back with some ace bandage and a splint. He tried to be as gentile as possible, but Chazz knew that Maddie was probably feeling ever single thing he did with ten times the amount of pain he could imagine. At last, when the splint was secure on her leg, Chazz wrapped a hefty amount of Ace over it, to protect it from any more harm.
He sighed when he finished, this time meeting Maddie's eyes for more than just one second. He didn't smile though... he just couldn't.... with everything that had happened today.... Chazz picked her up, and carried her up to the one room above the shop that he called home, and lay her on his bed before backing up to the opposite wall and slumping to the hardwood floor.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, trying to hold back more tears. He didn't want to be seen like this... so instead, he curled up in a ball, hiding his head under one arm while the other arm hugged his knees close to him. Then he was quiet, wishing he'd just vanish into nothingness right then. "I'm so sorry."

Maddie whined loudly as Chazz picked her up. He splinted her leg and apologzied. He looked absolutely destroyed. She'd seen him kill Jayla, but she knew the dog had been suffering. Jayla had tried to help her. She owed her life to that dog. Maddie's dark eyes landed on Chazz. She whined and extended her front paw out, the leg that wasn't injured and placed it on Chazz's arm as if to say 'I'm sorry'.
The pain throbbed, but she knew that in shifter form, she would heal a lot better than if she was in human form. It wouldn't take a long period of time for her to heal. Possibly a day or so. She gently gave Chazz's arm an affectionate lick before she closed her eyes.
***************************************
The next morning, Maddie opened her eyes to warm sunshine on her face. She was in human form and lying on the bed. Chazz was slumped against the wall. Maddie tested her left arm. It had been completely healed. Maddie pulled on a long shirt and then slowly slipped off the bed and onto the floor in front of Chazz.
"I'm so sorry about Jayla" she said quietly.
She was still angry with him but right now that wasn't the most important issue. She scooted closer to him and wrapped her arms around him, drawing him into a hug.
She rested her chin on his shoulder. She rested her cheek against his ear.
She didn't know what else to say. She wasn't going to yell at him , not now it wasn't the time.
"I'm here for you ok?" Maddie said quietly, not letting him go. She pressed her face into the hollow of his shoulder and waited for him to respond.
It had to be one of the most hardest choices a human ever had to make. Jayla had gotten hurt a lot worse than she had and she had been suffering. Chazz had put her out of her misery. Maddie just stayed like that, holding him in a tight embrace, waiting to see what he would say. She would be there for him if he needed her. Later on, when things were calmer, she would talk with him about why he lied to her and never told her from the beginning. It just wasn't tactful rigiht now

Raibaru Chazz Yokai``YOU WERE NOT THERE living in fear.``
He hadn't really slept, though he didn't think he was going to after all that had happened the night before. Not moving from his position the whole night, Chazz felt his muscles stiffen, but he didn't care... he just wanted to stay there and not wake up. At this point, he'd convinced himself his life was worth nothing. Even in the morning, when Maddie approached him, he didn't shift, his eyes still obscured by his arm.
"I'm so sorry about Jayla," she whispered to him. But he couldn't even register the voice outside his own mind. All he could hear was a dull buzzing all around him, but no coherent words, or thoughts, or even emotions at this point. However, as soon as he felt Maddie's arms snake around him, he tensed, and quickly squirmed away from her.
Chazz felt his muscles writhe inside his body at the sudden movement after keeping them stiff for so long, but that didn't bother him so much. It was more that Maddie was still here... that she'd said she was still there for him. It had to be a lie, or something his mind was making up. He just couldn't believe that he had anything left that made his life worthwhile after this whole ordeal.
Chazz tried to speak, but his voice was shot from the broken sobs he'd let out during the night. So instead, he just looked at Maddie, his eyes searching for a reason she was still talking to him. Behind them still, was fear. Of what, he wasn't sure. Could he really have anything else to lose at this point?

Maddie looked hurt when Chazz scooted away from her. She remained where she was as he stared at her.
Not caring, she threw her arms around him again, holding him tightly.
"I'm not going anywhere forget it" She whispered in his ear, keeping her cheek pressed against it. "I'm not going to let you go either"
She shut her eyes.
She didn't care how many times he squirmed away, she was not going to let him go.
"I'm so sorry Chazz" She repeated to him quietly pressing her face into his shoulder.
She wasn't afraid of him or anything. She knew what he did with his father was hard enough but after so much torment, anyone would've snapped. It was a human reaction.
"I don't blame you for what you did. Anyoen would've done that if they were in you position. There was just so much anyone can take before they've had enough." Maddie took his face into her hands and held it close to her own. She pressed her forehead against his and stared into his eyes.
"It doesn't change how I feel about you. Yeah I wish you would've trusted me with this earlier, not how I wanted to find out, but that's irreleveant now. All I care about is you and moving forward" she whispered giving him a soft kiss.
She kissed him passionately before pulling back and curling up next to him, letting her head rest on his thigh. She would stay like that with him until he decided to speak. But she let him know that she was not going anywhere, and that she was here for him if he needed her.

Raibaru Chazz Yokai``BUT SIGNS WERE NOT REALLY THAT SCARCE obvious tears, but I will not hide you through this.``
He trembled when she threw her arms around him again, and tried to say something, but the words got stuck in his throat. Chazz was petrified to one spot now, as he listened to Maddie speak in disbelief. She... still loved him? How was that possible when he couldn't even love himself, and after all that he'd done? He brought one hand up to his forehead and groaned, rubbing his temples at the oncoming headache from his conflicted and confused thoughts.
Nothing happened for a while after that as Maddie lay down beside him and he struggled to even think of a coherent sentence. Chazz didn't even know if he should speak at this point, afraid that his words would only make things worse. The one thing he didn't want to do was break down again. He'd crack for good if that was the case.
It took about ten more minutes for Chazz to finally muster up a sound, and though it was barely even audible, it was laced with misplaced malice, "Why are you here still?" His eyes snapped open, and he tensed up, glaring at a random object in the room. I couldn't do anything right from the beginning. I knew this was going to happen... am I just cursed to lose everything?
A wave of fury gripped him in that moment, though he did nothing but sit there; he was trying so hard to stay in control of everything that was flowing through his veins, though honestly, all he wanted to do now was go beat up someone. Why was he the one that always got into shit? Someone else deserved to feel his pain for once! But it was at that point that he took in a sharp breath and realized... he hadn't improved much. His temper was back now that he'd been broken down again, and that made him dangerous. The last thing he could do to hurt himself was hurt the girl laying so loyally in his lap.... and he was scared he would.
"Maddie..." he said through clenched teeth, still not looking at her, "I'm get the feeling that I am going to do something stupid... really stupid. So you should go. I can't talk right now."

Maddie heard him speak about possibly doing something stupid. She slowly sat up.
"Chazz, you've got to listen to me. I'm not going to leave you no matter what. I know you think you don't deserve me but you do! I don't care what you did in the past . I only care what our future holds"
She gently pushed him onto his back and stradled him, grabbing his wrists and pinning them by his ears. Her canine strength had come through as she sat on him. She leaned down and put her face close to his.
"Stop beating yourself up. Yes I still love you. Nothing's going to change that ok?" she said to him staring down into his eyes. "If you want to hit someone hit me"
She said fimly as she stared into his face.
She knew he probably felt immensely guilty over what had happened and probably felt that he didn't deserve her love. But he did. Right now she wanted him to be ok now and realize that she was not going anywhere nor was she going to stop loving him.
If she were in his shoes, she would've done the same thing. No questions asked. She kept her grip on his wrists firm but gentle. She lowered her face even more.
"I'm NOT going anywhere." she said steadily. She gave him a passionate kiss and pulled back, still straddling him and waiting for him to speak again. Clearly he had a bad temper but so did Maddie. She was slightly stronger than him, but she kept he strength in check so she never hurt anyone or anything. Her hair fell over her left shoulder as she stared at him

Raibaru Chazz Yokai``I WANT YOU TO HELP AND please see the bleeding heart perched on my shirt.``
Chazz did nothing as Maddie pinned him to the floor, nothing except flash anger from his eyes. How could she still believe that she was in love with him? It was crazy, and fucking stupid. It wasn't like Chazz to get angry over something like this... usually, he'd be grateful, but in this moment, he was so confused, so angry, so hurt by his own actions, that he wasn't thinking clearly.
"Get off," he warned darkly, his fists clenching at his sides. He was ready to lash out now, something he'd regret in a few moments as Maddie pushed his hands up by his head. He struggled for a few moments, but realized he couldn't move out of her grasp. Panic rose within him, and his mind flashed to his time in prison. Countless times this exact situation had happened to him, and he was still haunted by it... haunted by the screams that his own mouth produced when his fellow criminals beat him to a pulp.
And like old times, he screamed again, closing his eyes and squirming, "Get off Maddie, please get off!" he yelled in both desperation and confusion. He tore one arm free of her hands and then used that momentum to tear his other arm free. With both of them, he lashed out forward, though he was completely unaware of what he was doing until he felt his fist connect to something. He went deadly silent after that, bringing his hands down to cover his eyes.
"I don't understand... why..." he whispered. "I can't let go of it. My past just keeps coming back Maddie. I don't know what to do."

Maddie felt him struggle beneath her. He lashed out and she felt his fist connect with the side of her face. She cried out and raised a hand to her cheek. He covered his eyes with his hands.
Her cheek buned hotly and hurt. She knew she was going to have a black and blue there. She closed her eyes and forced her voice to remain calm, but shaky a bit.
"Chazz, you need to understand that people that love you are NOT going to abandon you, You need to get that. I love you and I'm not going to abandon you. I dont care what happened in the past. That's not important. What's important now is our future" she said softly, placing both of her hands flat against his chest.
She knew he probably was used to people abandoning him and hating him. But that was not her. She was not like that.
"Remember 2 years ago when I dyed my hair and it had bright pink strands? I looked like a cotton candy stick" she said laughing.
It had been hilarious. She had bright pink strips in her hair and looked like cotton candy. She leaned down and gently removed his hands from his eyes.
"I am in love with you. NOTHING is going to change that...got it?" she said to him softly, pressing her forehead against his and closing her eyes. She gently but passionately kissed him now, letting it linger a bit more.
She stopped and rested her cheek against his chest, listening to his heart beat.
Her hair fell around her face as she stayed like that. If he wanted more, she would give it to him. Whatever it took to show him that she was not going anywhere

Raibaru "Chazz" Yokai``DIE, WITHDRAW. HIDING COLD SWEAT quivering less ignore, remorse. living again, living wasteland.``
Chazz was silent at Maddie's words. She was so sincere, and his heart wanted to believe her, but his mind told him otherwise. He breathed shakily as she put her hands on his chest, his heart hammering from all the screaming he'd done, but slowly, slowly, he calmed... that is, until she lifted his hands off from his face. Unexpectedly, she kissed him... gently at first, but Chazz groaned and pushed up against Maddie, deepening the experience and making it last all that much longer.
She pulled away, and he felt torn. This wasn't right... his mind and his heart being in such conflict. And it wasn't right to use Maddie to make that all better either. He had to figure this out himself... and yet, Chazz's breathing cut short as she lay down on him, and against his will, he wrapped his arms around her, burying his head into her nape and inhaling her scent. It brought him a sense of calm, and suddenly, all that pent up anger at himself went away.
"Maddie, I'm sorry. I want to move forward to... but... I don't know how...." he paused, hugging her closer to his body. "You are amazing... to forgive someone like me. Maybe I deserve your love and maybe I don't but I'll take it for what it is. I still love you too."

THE NEXT MORNING.... The next morning Maddie felt warm sunshine on her face. She realized she was still lying across the bed from the night before. Her body ached but she felt satisfied. She felt her nape where Chaz had nipped her during their act, and she smiled. She gently reached over and shook him awake.
"Morning sleepy head" she ginned at him broadly.
She felt completley satisifed. So far the night they spent together last night was unbelievable. It got better and better.
She pulled on her shirt hastily and got up. Her legs were a bit wobbly, but she was ok.
"Want to help me make breakfast?" she beamed at him broadly.
She completely loved spending the night with him like that so intimately. She wanted to do that more often with him. He was amazing.
"What do you want to do today?" she asked him eagerly, sitting on the bed with one leg tucked beneath her. She happily flopped on it, reaching up to tuck a few strands of her hair behind her ear, watching him excitedly.
Today was Saturday, so neither of them had work.
"I suggest we have more nights like that " She whispered to him coyly.
She was even more in love with him. She snuggled up against him, letting her head rest on his chest, listening to his heart beat. It was so soothing to hear it. She closed her eyes on contentment and kissed him. She kept her head on his chest and placed her hand on it just under her cheek.
"We could spend the day resting if you want" she smiled.
She turned so that her chin rested on his chest, staring into his face. she couldn't love him anymore

Raibaru "Chazz" Yokai``AND THIS IS HOW IT HURTS WHEN I pretend i don't feel any pain.``
"If you insist," Chazz responded groggily, though a sly smile was plastered on his face. "But there's only so much I can do on such little sleep. I'm still pretty out of it."
He sighed deeply when Maddie lay her chin on his chest, and briefly forgot the world around him. It came back though, when he considered Maddie's question. What were they going to do today? Chazz grumbled something to himself in Japanese, and then with a stretch and a yawn said, "I dunno. I don't have to keep the shop open but I do need to feed the dogs and walk them."
He felt a little stab at his heart after saying that, realizing that Jayla wasn't around to help him anymore. He frowned visibly, but did nothing otherwise. After last night, Chazz didn't want to ruin the mood by feeling sorry for himself, though he felt like there was something missing without the presence of his canine companion.
"How about we go to Central Park?" he suggested. "I haven't been there in a long time. Actually, I almost never go into the city... but I'd like to go find a monument."

Maddie beamed at that suggestion.
"Sounds great! I know I haven't been there in a long time either. It'd be nice to take a walk around there" she said cheerfully. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna go shower"
She grabbed fresh clothes and undergarments and headed into the shower. She sighed in contentment as the hot water rolled oer her. She soaked her hair and her mind shifted back to the night before. Her body tingled again with the memory.
The second time was great. she thought and knew each time that happened, it would be amazing. She rubbed shampoo into her hair and then rinsed it out. Once she was done. she stepped out of the shower and dried off. She pulled on a pair of dark blue jeans and a white shirt. Over that she slipped on a black vest. She blow dried her hair and used the curling iron a bit to give some body to her hair. She applied makeup on and then headed back out to where Chazz was. She grabbed her black paperboy had and placed it on her head.
"Ok. I'll wait for you to get dressed" she said grinning at him broadly. She stepped over to him and kissed him deeply. "Love you so much" she said when she pulled back from the kiss. She headed into the kitchen to grab a bite to eat before they went. She munched on a waffle she'd popped into the toaster. It tasted like roofing tile, but it would hold her until they grabbed lunch. She knew the perfect place by the park to grab food. It was delicious but not expensive either. She felt so happy now.
