The four clans have been destroyed, and no trace of their legacy is left. The territory that nursed the clan cats for so many seasons is now filled with rogues and loners that go and come as they please, with twolegs that have great plans of their own, and lone birds that gaze down, wondering where the beasts that once hunted them have gone.
But that is just an illusion, for the four clans have survived.
The Vintage Lands are now the cats' new home. Those who still had faith in the stars after the corruption of the clans traveled away to faraway lands. This is how Birch, Oak, Pine and Willowclan came to be born, and how life took back its course, the cats relishing of the peace and quiet of their new home.
But trouble is never faraway, so the wise say. The group of cats that was the four clans' original cause of destruction has risen again, with a new leader at its head and who is determined to bring the order back on top of minds. What will he sacrifice to defy even the stars, and now that he is gathering followers, is the peace of the Vintage Cats coming to an end?
