After their defeat at Regionals, New Directions was nearly disbanded for good, but after a little convincing from Sue, they were saved. But if they lose this time round, even Sue Sylvester won't be able to save them.
It's a new term at both Carmel High and McKinley High, and that means that both teams are preparing for their Sectionals performance. But after Shelby Corcoran stopped coaching Vocal Adrenaline, the show choir was taken over by Mimi Riter, an ex-Broadway performer. After taking them to Nationals, and winning, she realised that there was no way they could win without front man Jesse St James, and she decided to fail him, meaning he would have to retake his senior year and giving Vocal Adrenaline another year of Jesse.
But she knew she wouldn't be able to fail him next year or he would quit the show choir for good, so she decided to go scouting for some fresh talent and discovered Sunshine Corazon, a young girl from the Philippines about to begin her freshman year at McKinley High. Before she could even go for her first day at the rival school, Mimi offered her an offer she couldn't refuse, a house and a green card for her mother. So Sunshine transferred and is now beginning the new school year at Carmel.
At McKinley, however, everything isn't going as smoothly. As Matt Rutherford transferred, New Directions only have eleven members. And without twelve members they can't even qualify for Regionals, let alone take it. They need some new members, or they won't see the school year through.
And through all of that, there is still the typical high school drama, and not just with the students- with the teachers too. How will the next year go? Only time will tell.. Kurt has transferred to the warblers, and taking a liking to Blaine. Finn and Rachel are over with-or are they? Sam and Quinn and dating, and maybe Puck can find his dream girl.

...this is going to be a bumpy ride...
